Your receipts are nobody’s business but yours

Expense apps see something genuinely personal: where you go, what you buy, what your business is struggling to afford. That is worth being careful with. Here is exactly how we treat it, in plain words.

There is no password to steal

TaskSpend has no passwords at all. You sign in with Apple or Google, so the only credential involved is one you already protect, and if you use Hide My Emailwe never even see your real address.

On your own device you can add a second lock: turn on Face ID or Touch ID and the app itself stays shut until it is you. That one is optional, and off unless you ask for it.

A leaked password is the most common way small companies lose data. The simplest fix is not to have one.

Your receipts are read on your phone

When you photograph a receipt, the reading happens on your deviceusing the text recognition built into iOS. On the free plan, the suggestions you see are worked out entirely on your phone. The picture does not need to travel anywhere to be understood.

The cloud AI is a choice, not a default

Premium can send receipt text to our AI for sharper results. Three things about that:

Your receipt images always live in private storage. They are never in a public folder, never listed anywhere, and every single request for one is permission-checked before anything is handed back.

Your team sees only its own corner

Inside a workspace, visibility is deliberately narrow. Members and viewers see the rows they created, not the workspace budget, not each other’s spending. Approvers get the queue they need to decide. Owners see the whole picture, because they are the ones paying for it.

Invitation codes are stored only as a fingerprint, never as readable text, so a copy of our records would not let anyone walk into your workspace.

Nothing leaves for your accounting software on its own, either. QuickBooks and Xero sync only ever moves what a human approved first.

Nothing about you is for sale

No advertising. No tracking pixels following you around the web. No analytics SDKs quietly shipping your behaviour to a third party. We do not sell your data, and we have not built a business that would need us to, you pay us for the app, and that is the whole arrangement.

Your information is encrypted both while it travels and while it sits at rest.

Leaving is easy, and final

You can delete your account from inside the app, or from the deletion page. We confirm it with a code sent to your email, so nobody else can wipe your history, and then it is gone. No retention hostage-taking, no support ticket required.

The full detail lives in our Privacy Policy and Terms. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
