Invoices and Spending Review, now on every plan

Two of TaskSpend’s most-requested tools just moved out of Premium. Every workspace can now bill a client straight from approved expenses, and every workspace gets Spending Review, the month-end pass that catches the charges you would rather find before your accountant does.

From approved expenses to a client invoice

If you run projects for clients, the last step of every job is the same: gather what was spent, put it in a document, and send it. TaskSpend now does that in a couple of taps. Pick a project, pick the approved expenses to include, add the client’s name, and TaskSpend produces a clean, branded PDF invoice with every line itemised.

Because invoices are built from approved expenses only, the numbers on the page are numbers someone has already signed off. No copying totals into a template, and no invoicing for a charge that was rejected last week.

You will find it on the Reports tab, under Invoices: bill a client for approved project expenses. The free plan includes five invoices a month across your workspace; Premium removes the cap.

Spending Review: find it before it ships

Spending Review is a guided close-out for the month. Approvers and owners walk the period’s spending and TaskSpend points out what deserves a second look, most usefully the near-duplicates: the same merchant, the same amount, a day or two apart, filed by two different people.

That flag matters more than it looks. A duplicate that slips through does not just pad the project’s costs, it can end up on a client invoice. Review first, then bill, and both problems disappear.

Why we made them free

Billing clients and closing the month are not power-user features, they are the reason a small team tracks expenses at all. Putting them on every plan means the free tier is a complete loop: capture, approve, review, invoice. Premium stays about scale, unlimited everything, accounting sync, and the deeper AI analysis.
