Euros in, dollars out: expenses in any currency

Your project budget lives in one currency. Your spending does not always cooperate: a supplier invoice in euros, a conference in London, a crew buying materials abroad. TaskSpend now handles the conversion for you, and keeps the paper trail honest on both sides.

Scan a foreign receipt, get a converted expense

Scan a receipt from a München hardware store and TaskSpend notices two things: it is a receipt, and it is not in your workspace’s currency. It offers the conversion right there, using that day’s European Central Bank reference rate, and tells you exactly what it did: €279.25 EUR → $303.40 USD at 1 EUR = 1.0864 USD.

Accept it and the expense is filed in dollars so budgets and reports stay comparable, while the original euro amount, the rate, and the rate date stay attached to the expense. If your card was charged a slightly different amount, edit the total, the receipt still shows its own arithmetic.

Travel requests in the currency you'll spend

Pre-approval requests work the same way. Ask for a Munich site visit in euros, and approvers see both figures, with per-diem days broken out and converted line by line. When the hotel receipt arrives in euros, the request thread posts the update in both currencies, so nobody has to ask what the rate was that day.

A converter, when you just need a number

Sometimes you only want the answer to “what is $1,250 in euros today?” The built-in converter does exactly that: type in either field and the other follows the day’s reference rate.

Reference rates update once per business day and every converted figure names its rate and date. Converted amounts are planning estimates, your card statement is always the final word, which is why the original amount never leaves the record.
